The EVOCA 170 NEO is a compact, fully automatic lens shutter camera with a built-in
38-170mm 4.5x power zoom. It is the highest zoom ratio among 35mm compact cameras
in the world. The EVOCA 170 NEO provides a more accurate and clearer picture by
using a Schneider lens, which is one of the worlds best optical lenses. It also
maintains a sleek comopact design due to its 2 spherical lens design.
The passive auto-focus-system operates in several AF zones to ensure the subject is
always in sharp focus. The system perceives, for example, that dominant persons in
the foreground are the intended subjects and will adjust the camera accordingly(
Portrait Zoom Mode).
Similar in design to the Samsung EVOCA 70 NEO and the EVOCA 140 NEO,the EVOCA
170Neos mode dial offers various shooting modes selection choices, such as
portrait zoom and continuous, spot, snap, and infinity shooting. Switchable panorama provides dramatic photography with wide perspectives. The EVOCA 170 NEO even has a diopter adjustment that is adjustable for the individual eyesight of the camera user.
In addition, the camera has a self-timer (4 modes) with an optional
remote control.
The zoom flash is regulated to offer the optimum reflector position for the focal
length selected by the camera, thereby ensuring uniform lighting of the subject. The
various flash functions can be adjusted to reduce the unpleasant red-eye-effect or the user can switch the flash on or off manually at any time. Twilight pictures can be improved by using the
flash function in conjunction with the slow shutter sync setting.
The EVOCA 170 NEO is equipped with an optional date/time data stamp and messages can
be printed on the picture with the CAPTION feature. While most other camera?s quartz
date function provides only 2-digit year imprinting, the EVOCA 170SE provides 4-
digit year imprinting. This is the first quartz date function with 4 digit
possibility ever applied to a 35mm compact camera and will resolve the Y2K problem.
To prevent unwanted errors while taking pictures, the camera automatically generates
warning sounds when inappropriate settings are made. In addition, because the camera
beeps whenever the shooting mode is selected, it is unnecessary to worry about
whether the proper function is set.
